Calculus III

Assessment Authoring and Review

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our Calculus III project consists of three teams of Subject Matter Experts. One team authors learning objectives and question stems, another team member codes the questions using Python, and the third team does accuracy review for the authored questions.

WE ARE HIRING FOR THE FOLLOWING TEAM MEMBER ROLES

➢ Instructional Content Author

➢ Assessment / Quiz Question Author

➢ Quality Assurance / Accuracy Checking Expert

 

PREFERRED TEAM MEMBER QUALIFICATIONS

Outlining Subject Matter Expert Qualifications Must Have:

 

➢ Teaching Calculus 3 at post-secondary level Authoring assessment items and learning objectives for Calculus 3 (both summative and formative).

➢ Experience teaching with an adaptive learning platform or online homework delivery system.

➢ High level of comfort working independently and remotely.

➢ Excellent remote work communication skills, highly responsive.

➢ High level of comfort using a variety of technical tools and being able to move between platforms with agility.

➢ LaTeX Experience teaching Calculus 3 with Stewart, Larson, Briggs, or OpenStax text and experience using Google Sheets/ Docs in a work or team setting are preferred but not required.

Authoring with Python Qualifications Must Have:

➢ Teaching or Coursework in Calculus 3 at post-secondary level Experience with Python (or similar language), LaTeX, GitHub.

➢ High level of comfort working independently and remotely.

➢ Excellent remote work communication skills, highly responsive.

➢ High level of comfort using a variety of technical tools and being able to move between platforms with agility (GSuite, Slack, GitHub, spreadsheets, Pycharm for example).

➢ Experience teaching Calculus or higher-level math with an adaptive learning platform or online homework delivery system, and experience authoring algorithmically generated assessment questions are preferred but not required.

 

Accuracy Reviewer Qualifications:

➢ Teaching Calculus 3 at the post-secondary level.

➢ High level of comfort using a variety of technical tools and being able to move between platforms with agility.

➢ High level of comfort working independently and remotely.

➢ Excellent remote work communication skills, highly responsive.

➢ Excellent writing and command of the English language.

➢ Experience copyediting and editing academic content, specifically math or STEM content.

➢ Experience teaching with an adaptive learning platform or online homework delivery system, experience with GitHub, experience teaching Calculus 3 with Stewart, Larson, Briggs, or OpenStax text and experience using Google Sheets/ Docs in a work or team setting are preferred but not required.

PROJECT DURATION

Through January 2021

REQUIRED AVAILABILITY

 

Part time hours are available. Projects will have set milestones and deadlines, but there are no set hours and all contract work is self paced provided that deadlines are met. Part time contributors must still commit to some level of daily interaction with the FLG team.

LOCATION

Remote/Ability to work from home from anywhere in the world. Must have reliable internet access as the projects will be managed and coordinated via email and teleconference as needed.
