Dr. Amy Taft
Chief Academic Officer
Amy serves as the Chief Academic officer for Freedom Learning Group. As an educator at heart Dr. Amy Taft started her career in the K-12 classroom, traversing grades 4th thru 12th grade over a 12-year period. After leaving the classroom, Amy took a job with the United States Marine Corps and worked toward developing the Military Transition Program. She then shifted from working on the internal transition process to working on outward partnerships by becoming the Southeast Regional Coordinator for the Marine for Life Program. Amy has also worked with the Institute for Veteran and Military Families out of Syracuse University as the Manager of Curriculum and Learning and has served on several national initiatives to improve employment opportunities for military spouses.
Amy’s husband served in the United States navy for 21 years until he was medically retired. She has 2 daughters and now resides in North Carolina. In 2018 Amy was also a member of the inaugural class of the Bush Institute Stand- To Veteran Leadership Program.
