Each year International Women’s Day provides us the opportunity to celebrate the advancement of gender equality around the world. However, gender inequality and biases remain a global challenge. Freedom Learning Group, a female-led educational content services provider, is dedicated to fill this gap through the employment and upskilling of military spouses, a population that is 91% women.
“On this important day for the world’s women, FLG acknowledges our female staff, talent community, and those we serve. Employment brings positive change to women personally, to their families, and to the economy, and we especially see that in the military community.”Michele Baird, Chief Executive Officer, Freedom Learning Group
On March 8th, we celebrate International Women’s Day. It is a time to honor the accomplishments and resilience of women, but it is also a time to reflect that much work remains to be done. At FLG, we believe all women deserve equal opportunity for skilled employment. We remain committed to our founding mission as a solution for women seeking employment. FLG is removing barriers to entry and creating an environment where our workforce is empowered to further their career.
To support this stand, Freedom Learning Group released a white paper titled “Women in the Workforce: Recommendations for Creating Flexible & Remote Opportunities.” The goal is to challenge other businesses to be a landing zone for women seeking professional opportunities at every stage of their career while sharing FLG’s successes as a global, remote, flexible project-based workforce.
Companies, both large and small, must address the issue of women dropping out of the workforce at unprecedented rates. By creating flexible and remote jobs, employers can break the cycle of female unemployment. FLG will continue to create workforce-focused change for disconnected populations, leading to socio-economic mobility.
